I have been watching the arrival and departure of the swallows over the years and there is a pattern.
When they leave before august we have a really hard winter coming. When they leave in mid august we will have an average rainy and some measurable snow. When they leave in Sept we will have a mild winter and when they leave in October we will have a dry winter.
This year they left before August so plan wind and snow and maybe ice.
