Visited the shore in the Lordship neighborhood of Stratford, CT and spotted a monarch in flight. It was only a brief sighting so we don't know if it was displaying directional flight or not, but this is a place where the migrating monarchs gather in the fall before heading south over Long Island Sound. We think it's early for migrating.
