Visited three adjoining private ranches with abundant thickets of milkweed (Showy Milkweed, A. speciosa & Horsetail Milkweed, A.subverticillata) and nectar. Over 40 monarchs visiting the area nectaring primarily on clover and secondarily on milkweed in bloom. Abundant sunflowers and goldenrod ready to bloom. Mating pair spotted. First, second and third instar monarch larvae on abundant Showy Milkweed, Asclepias speciosa.
