Watching a faded Monarch feeding on zinnias,I wanted to see if it was male or female. It was a female, and it was fun to follow her in the garden. Once she landed on milkweed, her demure changed to excitedly laying eggs. I watched her "tap" the milkweed, and after that, she just went crazy laying eggs. What an amazing thing to witness in nature!
