I have had females visit as early as May, but this year the first visitor was July 22th and on the 28th I gathered 9 eggs and brought into my house. Eight hatched on July 31st. I will care for them until the butterflies hatch, when I will release them.
Most summers I hatch and release 50 to 60 monarchs.
