One Adult. Checking out the milkweed and butterfly weed plants. Did not seem to be looking for food. (milkweed blossoms long gone) Was not laying eggs.

First monarch seen this year. Usually see them end of June/beginning of July. None seen. No eggs or larva found.


I have watched monarchs for thiry years, growing the same plot of milkweed. I've been concerned with the decline, but this year is just scary.
