Saw one Monarch butterfly (!) flying in a naturalized area surrounding a retention pond behind a strip mall on the far northeast side of Indy. It was across the water from where I stood, but with binoculars I could clearly see it was a Monarch. Few flowering plants in the vegetation, but there were some patches of Common Milkweed where the Monarch was flying; did not see it land on the milkweed.
Checked ~ 20 accessible Common Milkweed plants nearby but did not find eggs or sign of Monarch activity.
