Today I observed a very faded female monarch laying eggs. The Common Milkweed was about 18" tall located about 20' from the Lake Huron shoreline amongst Common Tansy flowers and asters on a sandy/rocky slope. I hope to gather the caterpillars in a couple of weeks for my monarch presentation August 31 at Harrisville State Park. This was the 6th monarch seen this year.
