I first observed the Monarch caterpiller on my cucumber plant on July 23rd.It crawled under one of the leaves and on July 25th,I observed the chrysalis.It remained that way until August 12th when I observed the change.I could see the Monarch and the chrysalis had changed from light green to black.I missed seeing it emerge by about an hour.I didn't see the butterfly again until August 15th.
I was able to get pictures of all of the stages.Pretty thrilling.
