It seemed to start at the first of the month with a slight ingress of the new guys. All Summer I had only males, maybe 6 at the most. A couple of weeks ago I noticed slightly more aggression so I put out a few more feeders. Over the last week or so, it's been full bore fighting! Lots of females both juvenile and subadults getting into full contact sporting events. The image is of a Ruby male subadult. He is extremely vicious and makes full contact from the protection of a rose bush.
