Feeding heavily - 4 feeders, using up 1 lb sugar per day. Hummers are sitting on the feeders and feeding 5-6 at a time on one feeder. This is the first year in 10 that we have had this many birds feeding cooperatively at one feeder.

Twice this week, as I was changing out the feeders, I was chased by yellow-jackets - and a female hummer intervened on my behalf, chasing the yellow-jackets away from me (not away from the feeder) after I had hung the feeders and was heading back into the house.
