Deeply wooded site with 1 acre opening, pond, milkweed and numerous wildflowers. Monarch Butterflies have bred here in past years but none were sighted during the spring and summer of 2013. I increased my attention, surveyed facebook friends (no sightings) and then saw this one flitting about the flowers mid-day on August 6, 2013. I ran around the yard with it taking pictures, checked with identification guides and posted some pictures on facebook to help me verify identification. I was told it was indeed a Monarch.
