We drove to the pasture after noon. At 5:00 while
we were sitting in the shade, a monarch drifted right past us
out of the north and disappeared to the south-southwest with
hardly a wing beat ... at eye level twenty feet away ... very
dedicated in "its" flight but there are no blooms to deter.
calm, 92 dF, remains hot, dry ... no changes on horizon ...
