We successfully raised 2 catapillars to butterflies and released two females today at the Cromwell Valley Children's Park. We found the two catapillars in a milk weed field near by with two others that succumbed to magnet wasp larvae that killed them while either pupating or during the chrysalis phase. We have raised 4 monarchs successfully total this summer sadly out of 10 caterpillars, two boys and two girls. They have been very very hard to find this year. I have yet to find any eggs and the catapillars I have found have often been already infected. I have only sighted maybe 5 monarchs total all summer where I live. My farther in law in Lancaster PA has seen NONE and had many many in his garden last summer. What is happening? This is so sad!
