We were walking through Battery Park City which is a lovely community at the tip of Manhattan. Lots of trees, shrubbery, plants, flowers and grasses. We walked into this one courtyard with many flowers, and this is where we saw the 1 monarch, probably nectaring? as it was going from flower to flower. I'm saying it's my first one, since I became interested in them after reading Flight Behavior. This is not a great picture, as I captured it with my phone, and then it flitted off. I'm trying to locate the exact place... I think it might have been Robert J. Wagner Park. I'll be more exacting in the future!
