Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/24/2013

Number: 1

I had at least twelve or more male and female hummingbirds as of August 23 which were suddenly very playful and consuming a great deal of sugar water daily. They were playing constantly. On August 24 I suddenly had only one female remaining. And again today only one lone female.

I photograph the birds daily and have been doing this for a few yards. I do not recall ever seeing the hummies leave this early. It usually would not be until the end of the first week of September. We are currently haveing excellent weather and the flowers and food sources are at their best here at this time. I am so very surprised by the sudden and very early departure.

I always dred their departure and this year shocked it was so early.... so very sad to see them leave.

Only one female remaing on Sunday August 25th, 2013.
