We managed to collect 10 eggs this year from two locations (a huge shortfall from the 107 we had last year). My concern this year is not only with the low numbers, but with two eggs we got from a different location than the other 8. These two caterpillars developed much more slowly and never created a complete chrysalis. Sadly, this morning a deformed Monarch try to exit it's chrysalis, but never got to spread it's wings. I am hoping the second one comes tomorrow with better results.
