My students have been monitoring monarchs for the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project all summer. The number of monarch larvae and eggs have been very discouraging. The blazing star in our school nature area is in full bloom. It always manages to draw in monarchs as they are migrating in late August. We spotted 15 different adults on Friday, August 23, between 7pm-7:30pm.
