I was so happy to see my first monarch this season. I have been watching the milkweed patches on my daily walks for weeks and have seen no evidence of the butterflies or caterpillars. I am a former teacher and many of my fellow educators have been on the lookout for them. No classroom collection this year. So few sighted that all caterpillars should be left in the field.
