Not sure if this counts as a fall roost. I was walking my treeline that the monarchs used last year and saw 3 flying around. I did take a picture of these 2 males. I saw the one earlier in the day nectaring on my blazing stars, he is very crinkly and tattered but gets around fine.
Editor's Note: We are defining a roost as a group of monarchs where at least 12 butterflies are clustering for the night. Therefore, the number of monarchs observed at this site is too small to be considered a roost. (The number 12 is arbitrary but we use it consistently each year for data collection.)
