Observed a mating pair of Monarchs in flight around our garden this evening!!! I released a male yesterday and a female the day before, plus had at least one different male (not one I reared) patrolling the garden for the past few days so knew the possibility was there - at least now I can confirm that another generation is in the making! Wow!
I'll check the milkweed in the garden over the next few days for eggs - the Common Milkweed is deteriorating despite our watering to fight the lack of rain; the Texas Milkweed looks good, and we have at least six Butterfly Weed plants as well. Lots of nectar plants in bloom, too.
