my husband discovered a monarch 'stuck' in a skylight of the picnic shelter where he was having a cookout with some neighbors. By the time he was able to get back home and get me to help, probably two hours had elapsed. I went back to the shelter with him and we determined that the butterfly would probably climb onto a long branch if we could find one, and then we could lower it back out into the open and free it. We were able to do just that, and it took off in a southerly direction immediately upon release, YAY!!!
