Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/28/2013

Number: 4

Today there was a FOURTH butterfly who joined the trio....!!!! YEAH YEAH YEAH!!! We are hoping that more will start finding our blazing star liatris and increase our numbers. Today it was cooler (only 90F rather than 96/97F....!) and the butterflies don't seem to mind the heat a bit! The question I've had for several years now is where do they go at night to catch a few ZZzzz's...? I've often wondered if its high in the trees in our backyard since I see them periodically flying back to the yard and swooping upward...one day I'm sure I'll find out...! Until then, let them continue to dance and prance and feed in the sunshine on this....

....sunny urban boulevard garden on a busy street in southwest minneapolis!
