Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 08/30/2013

Number: 4

Have one dominant male hummingbird feeding daily...also have one female and what appear to be a couple of juvenile males...smaller than the female with no red throats...So altogether, we see 4 hummers feeding throughout the day up until at least 8 or 8:30 pm every day. They put on quite the show chasing each other around the feeder! The female is very mild mannered, and will sit and feed, nothing seems to bother her. The male will very rarely stop to feed if I am nearby, he just zips through and sits in a nearby tree branch and waits for me to leave....always been this way, but the juveniles seem to be a bit more brave and will feed when I am around...not too close to them, but still there. Love my hummingbirds! Very sad when they leave!
