I released six Monarchs - four females, two males. I had raised them from egg to adult. I usually see dozens visit my garden over the summer, but on July 28th I saw the first. I checked my milkweed and found a total of eight eggs and brought them in the house. One did not hatch, one died in the first molt. Five Monarchs hatched on Aug 26, the last one on Aug 27. I do not have tags to put on them, but released them and hopefully they are on their way to Mexico! I have since seen only three more in the garden and no eggs. What a sad summer!
