Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/29/2013

Number: 1

Around 7 pm I saw at least one hummingbird at my feeder; it did not have the ruby throat, but the beak was quite long so I would guess that it was an older female, not a juvenile. After feeding, it would fly back into my very thick and bushy apple tree, and return to drink again, so I was not able to determine if there was more than one hummingbird! Despite a lot of activity nearby in my other bird feeder and my suet feeder (attracting downy woodpeckers, white breasted nuthatches, gold finches, tufted titmice, mourning doves, and chickadees) it did not deter the hummingbird(s) from feeding!
