I saw at least 3-4 males today during the morning. I noticed last week and a half that traffic has picked up, so I figured the exodus had begun. I noticed that the food was disappearing faster, so I increased what I was putting out, the amount and the frequency. At 8:45 this morning five hummers were at the feeder together..only one of them was a male, one female, and the others juveniles some with budding ruby feathers beginning at their necks. I watched many others feeding from my pink/red lantanas and tall red salvias...also purple liriope which I had never seen them sip before. There were many hummers buzzing my flower filled beds and hanging pots. Tooks some nice shots, I will try to post one with this.
