Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/31/2013

Number: 8

Seems that our butterflies prefer the cooler temperatures! Again we had 8 lively visitors feeding on the blazing star liatris. You can tell they are starting to feed a bit more intently now, perhaps knowing that in just a matter of a few weeks they will be heading off for Mexico. Yesterday you could get much closer to them and they didn't really budge much. Less playful flying and more focused on the garden.

Hopefully now with temps the next week or so in the low 80s and upper 70s during the day, more monarchs will be encouraged to come out from under the shade and hang out in our garden..! Signing off from a sunny urban boulevard garden in southwest minneapolis!
