Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/01/2013

Number: 1

I put out a feeder (4 part water, 1 part sugar) on Friday, Aug 30 and within a few hours the feeder was found. I have one large ruby throated male and another smaller one plus multiple females and/or young adolescents of various sizes. Today, Sept 1st I've had several single hummingbirds feeding there almost every five minutes since dawn (it's 9:00 a.m now). They are different sizes and only two have the ruby throat. They really enjoy the nectar. Some make a little squeeking sound after each sip. Photo taken inside through a screen door.
