Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/26/2013

Number: 2

My husband and I sighted two different hummingbirds, at times separately, at times flying in pair. The one was smaller and had a greenish cast to back feathers, other was larger and mostly light brown with little coloration. They were feeding on the flowers of tiger lily, russian sage, and hollyhock. We also have a feeder which they used, sitting intermittantly on a tree branch. Very unusual, we wondered if it had to do with the very warm evening, in the upper 90s. We have seen them several evenings in a row between 7pm and 8:30pm MST.
