~10 am 2 hummingbirds hovered by my backyard coral honeysuckle, before 1 could nectar the 2nd chased it away. This all happened so fast I could not detect field marks to determine gender or age. This performance was repeated a few minutes later. @10:10am I caught a glimpse of a red throat on one, so 1 was a male for sure. @Noon 1 hummingbird fed on Salvia in my front yard but foliage prevented me from seeing any clear field marks.
