Today from 2 PM to 4 PM I tagged 3 out of 6 monarchs observed. The 3 I tagged were on Goldenrod and the other three were on Joe-pye-weed. Tag codes are SCW 302 (male), SCW 303 (female), and SCW 304 (female). I now have tagged 5 monarchs the last 2 days for the season that started August 18. I usually have on average 15 tagged by now during period above. So far I have seen 9 since August 18 as compared to 18 on average past 3 years. Wind today again was WNW at 11 mph (yesterday 21 mph). Temperature 72F. and sunny.
