Counted 21 larva in suburban garden that contains 100+ milk weed plants. Count was conducted without an involved search, meaning the larva in easy view without turning over leaves, etc. Larva was from a day old to 5-7 days. This is an established garden site and reseeds naturally. In 2011, 10+ complete butterfly hatches were witnessed. None were witnessed in 2012, but larva did exist and chrysalis were found. None were determined to have hatched prior to migration.
