I was in the car and saw a monarch flying across the road. There was a fairly brisk breeze, and the monarch seemed to be struggling a bit, flying against the breeze.
We have only seen a total of 3 monarchs the whole summer in our yard. I have planted milkweed, flowers and butterfly bushes, but it is the lowest count we have ever had. The 3 that came did not stay very long or come back.
