Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)

Date: 09/06/2013

Number: 2

We've had 4-6 families of Ruby-Throats here in N.Virginia all summer! We have 6 feeders in a very large/natural yard and they each happily established their 'territories.' Several of the males have already gone south but a few remain. All the females and young are still here. The parent birds return every year to the exact same branches and feeders. This is our 20th year of feeding them here! We adore them and are so curious to know: EXACTLY WHERE DO THEY GO WHEN THEY FLY SOUTH? HAS SOMEONE DISCOVERED A WAY TO DOCUMENT? THANKS !
