Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/02/2013

Number: 1

Seldom opened its wings except to fly. From over 100 photos we obtained only one with open wings. The butterfly took several survey trips about our yard but consistently returned to this Buddleja, spurning the abundant Agastache sp. blooming adjacent to the Buddleja. The Agastache plants were simultaneously hosting at least 7 White-lined Sphinx Hummingbird Moths, Hyles lineata, and a couple of humming birds.
