Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/06/2013

Number: 8

Eight hummers spotted this evening at the three patio feeders, all at the same time. Three males and five females. Feeder visitation is continual during the day time with usually no more than two at a time. However when the evening rolls around activity increases. Temperatures have been In the mid 50's at night with daytime highs between 78 and 82 degrees. No measurable precipitation in the last fifteen days. Still plenty of flowers and the Rose-of-Sharons are still flowering and receiving plenty of hummer traffic. Insect numbers less than normal from what I can observe. Still seeing the total of eight hummers all at the same time at this time of the season is higher than normal for us.
