Sightings report image

Date: 09/06/2013

Number: 1

Tagged and released a beautiful male Monarch that I'd found as a chrysalis hanging on a milkweed leaf three days ago in a field in Fortville, IN. He eclosed yesterday, appearing healthy and strong. Glad to have had him as part of our Monarch family, if only for a few days :). He is the first butterfly I've ever tagged - I was nervous at first, but it all went smoothly; there are at least 60 pupae and more than 40 larvae residing in our mud room now, so, hopefully, I will be an expert at tagging by the end of this season. Happy trails and safe journey to # SCU050! We are Monarch Waystation # 6958.
