While gathering common milkweed leaves in the garden this evening, I found a ~4th instar caterpillar on a Texas Milkweed plant. Brought it in for rearing, hoping it escaped Tachinid parasitization. Wish I'd found it sooner; have been checking all milkweed plants regularly, but the Texas Milkweed is more challenging for me to check - the smaller, more numerous leaves per plant give more opportunities for the eggs and tiny cats to be tucked away from sight.
