Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/07/2013

Number: 51

We had 51 adult Monarchs on the property this evening, 21 of which were in the yard flitting in and out of the trees or perching on branches...the rest were still nectaring in the prairie pasture. Those in the yard were not clustering although some branches contained two or three individuals. Would 21 in a yard in different trees be construed as a roost? Our past roosts have always had dozens or more sharing the same branches.
