Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/07/2013

Number: 100

This morning at 6:40 (20 minutes before sunrise), the first hummer to arrive at the feeder was seen immediately to be larger than the Rubies. At least 1/4" longer. She appeared to be more robust and hefty, had wings that extended nearly to tail tip, iridescent green back and shoulders and later, a vicious attitude. She protected the feeder all day with full contact attacks. No others ever drank from the feeder. I have no idea what species she is.
