Sightings report image

Date: 09/09/2013

Number: 1

I am delighted to report we still have our orioles. Both males and females, not quite the abundance as a few weeks ago. I also have noted that their interest is focused almost completely on the grape jelly right now. The sugar water is still out there, although they have to shoo the hummers away. They just could not get enough of the sugar water a few weeks ago. A few of the ones at the feeders have slightly different markings than our regulars. So maybe these are migrants. I will definitely miss their chatter and occasional song when they head for the south.
