Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/11/2013

Number: 15

Finally! While waiting and watching my trees, they came in one by one. I counted at least 20 flying and settling down for the night. I found 2 roosting by themselves singly, a pair together and 11 in one tree together. They came in around 7:30, partly cloudy, temp 77', wind NNW 8 mph, dew point 46', humidity 33%, barometric pressure 30.09 inches, with a temp for tonight of 58'. All roosted on the downwind side of shelter belt, which runs east and west. This is the same shelter belt used last year, mostly ash, cotton woods, honeysuckles and cedars. Previous nights were singles roosting.
