At 7:30 AM one adult was sighted. Gradually through the morning the count increased to five at noon. At 2:00 PM the number sighted was seven. One dead Monarch was found late afternoon. Their activity was slower in the morning, increasing in the afternoon. 5 PM and 6:30 PM count was six. They are feeding more frequently on newer blooms of Liatris scariosa and plants in their first year of blooming. The plants have been watered through the dry times.
