Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/10/2013

Number: 1

Observed a single Monarch on our large Vitex plant in the flower bed next to the house. The butterfly appears in good shape. First noticed it on September 10th and it's still there today. Our area is in severe drought and this plant is watered regularly providing one of the few nectar sources for bees and butterflies. I will be expanding my observations to some other locations on our farm that contains suitable habitat to see if there are any more Monarchs.
