At home @6:40 am while I brought my bulk waste to the street curb I saw the blur of a hummingbird among my Salvias in the front yard. As I put my trash bin on the back patio, I saw the blur again, only at the coral honeysuckle on the arbor. Both times the bird rose to hesitate for a moment and look at me before disappearing in a flash. The low lighting, the bird's speed, and my lack of contact lenses meant there was no way I'd see field marks to tell me age or gender. It may or may not be the same bird, the sightings were just minutes apart & they are fast.
