Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/12/2013

Number: 2

Saw one early this morning at my feeder, but it moved very quickly. I did not see if it was male or female. Just now saw what I first thought was a female sitting on top of the shepards's hook that holds the feeder. When the head turned I was able to see that it was most likely a young male with just a flash of red, like a dot, on the throat area. As I was realizing that it must be a male, a second one flew close to the feeder and was driven off by the male. Could not tell gender of that one.
