Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/13/2013

Number: 5

Just went back out to finish watering after lawn service left the area. Sat back down in the same spot & immediately found a second large M cat. Got up and started looking around and found 6 chrysalids just under the eaves or on window or door sills. They have got to be the palest jade green I've ever seen in over 30 years of watching Monarchs morph in the classroom and at home. Hope they too are survivors!! If I've now accounted for 8 of the many more holes in the leaves, maybe those green hopping critters weren't totally to blame for the disappearing milkweed, but maybe they can be counted for missing cats. If I've found 8, wonder how many are out there that I didn't spot? Fun, fun, FUN!! ... 2 weeks & counting!!
