We have had an adult male rufous hummingbird in our yard since August 24, which was three weeks ago now. We are calling him “Gus” for AuGUSt in honor of the month that he appeared. We also have at least two (maybe more) rubythroats hanging around. Gus is not pestering them as much as he did initially, and they sometimes sit relatively close to each other, at least for a while. This is the fourth different rufous hummer we’ve had in our yard since April of 2011.
