After seeing 200+ monarchs on Thursday, September 12th, and none on Friday, I observed 27 today on the beach along Lake Huron. I had my binoculars and counted 20 females and 4 males. The other 3 I could not make out. Weather was sunny, temperature 68F., and Wind WSW-8 mph. The 14th of September has been my peak day for 2010 and 2011. Last year it was September 7th. I also had peaks on September 8th, 2010, and October 9th, 2011. My average observations are 341 monarchs September 01-14, 2010-12. This year 268. Hours watching has been steady each year.
